HG had been created on March 3, 2003. Scary that I still remember all the tombeish details. Like thinking that we didn't need AJ and Willis's profiles right away.
Fall 2002 | I was still annoyed that Pojo.com had deleted all of their digimon boards, especially the fan-fiction one. Since I had been writing LD there, I was lucky that after ch 20, I saved it on the computer since I wanted to edit it. Once Pojo killed those boards, I heard about a new site, and misunderstood, thinking it was the new official Pojo site. Nope, it was one person's site, and there weren't any active members. I played there for a little while, got board, made extra ezboard accts so I could pretend there were other members, etc.(therefore why at HG, you'll see both my "Lost Digi Girl" and "Jasmine Steele" accts.) |
Winter 2002/2003 | My econ class begins a stock-market project, so we got to use laptops every day. Then, I got a random idea to look for RPGs. I began looking, but only one that interested me...I tried to join and a week later realized no one had posted there in months. |
March 2003 | I discovered the Digimon DNA Tamers RPG about the same time I gave up on finding an active RPG and started making HG. Therefore DDT influenced aspects of HG in minor ways. -The DDT profiles were insanely detailed and long, so I decided to just get basics for ours. Baaad idea. -They used Tinami to find pics for their characters, and had codes to put it in the custom title spot. We did that, but since I was new to this I didn't know what to do when the links had changed. -They were insanely active! I could barely keep track of the threads I was in, which were few since I was involved in HG and school and my only comp time was in econ. -They had 'seasons'. Multiple phases on the same boards. |
Spring 2003 | We made progress, in a sense. Pika, Ross and AJ all joined and played, at varying degrees of seriousness. We got random new members, including one from DDT(Kitt), one from who knows where(Nail), and Michael from school and the DnD group. The game grew despite my limited computer time(aka-any time in econ, and maybe if I had essays that I needed to scooter over to Grammi's to work on-I didn't have my bike at this point) |
Summer 2003 | With school being over and me at home with no reason to sneak off to Grammi's, I left HG to Pika. And then she got in a summer program, so we put AJ and Ross in charge. The three new ones, lead by Nail, kinda took over plot-wise. |
Fall 2003 | I was back at school, at Grammi's, so I came back to HG adminy ness. Surprisingly, AJ's stubbornness technically saved HG, saying that 'you can't have a black paladin', stopping Nail's tombeness and , at least until I found out he had died just so he could do that, and that totally ended the thing-NO death. I began making more serious rules too, and restoring the plot. At this point, AJ and Ross gave up since the real admins were back. |
Winter 2004 | I finally realized what direction I wanted to take the plot of the RPG series-Jamie, Am, Re, and Sai. I decided to label this phase of HG as 'Realemon's Tricks', still thinking the whole RPG series of 'seasons would be on the same HG boards, similar to DDT. |
Spring 2004 | A random person posted a link advertising his RPG. After a couple days of confusion, and asking people at Pojo what to do, I decided to join the RPG, in hopes of finding new members. There, I met Wedge and Raven. Also, Deragon joined HG, also from who knows where. Michael poofed. |
Summer 2004 | HG was slowing down. The other RPGs I played in with Wedge and Raven were dying even faster(Most of that being due to admin problems) In a particular dull streak, me, Wedge and Pika decided to make a sort of 'What if' RPG(DF) to play in along with HG. Deragon joined also, and later Raven even joined. Wedge even had Shayde join(who knows where those two met). Also, no one knows where Kyle came from but he joined. |
Fall 2004 | DF was too successful-no one joined HG really and even the HG dedicated members were more focused on DF. Even when introducing Jesse (from Pojo; therefore I still try to legally advertise there), I presented both HG and DF, and how they were intertwined, and he chose DF. A few months later, even less progress in HG and we hadn't even really reached the final battle that triggered the 'what if phase. After talking to all active DF members, we decided that it'd be easier to make DF the official 'what happened', rather than a 'what if'. When we reached the final battle in HG, we purposefully steered it so we lost the battle in the way we had guessed when making DF. |
