Two things trigger this topic.
1-Information at both the info site and board info sections need updating.
2-I hate the ads at the info site.
Therefore, since the site needs updating, and ads annoy me, I've been wondering if the site is needed anyway, or if all the info should be put on the boards in some way or form. If keeping it on the site, I'll fix the ad problem by paying for the ad-free, but I only want to do that if I KNOW that the site is being used by others besides those who input information on it(aka-me, Jesse, and I make deragon help at times although he doesn't directly input info).((other minor problem with site, at least with me, is that any changes to old pages take a while for the computer to change although other computers will see changes. usually))
However, I like linking things from this to that to the other thing. But the links on message baords can easily be changed-just by moving a thread, the link changes and any old links are broken.
Therefore, the suggestions(relating to poll answers)
I'm personally unsure of my opinion. I'd prefer to use the info site as a member, but as an admin and one who works on it, it'd be easier to use the baords in various cases. Except with that linking problem, that drives me nuts. I like the side-bar links, but the baords don't have that. I know if we add too much info, then it'd be useful to have more of the side-bar options, but there's way too many pages to edit to make more options(therefore, it'd have to be layered info, such as listing all the lerkurlia info in the LDG in the dimension section of the side-bar). I wish both systems could be used at once, but then how would one know to look at the info-site or boards?
It's my intention of all this organizing info stuff to make it easier for everyone to locate what they need. Especially new members. I intend to set up a welcome PM to be sent to all new members, but I'd want all the useful links included, similar to the beginner's guide(which needs work too...or including in the info site...it all depends). However, I need to know what to do first, and where to put it.
A final note-90% of these changes and such wouldn't happen any time soon-it's nearing 'finals season' at school, so I will be busy with homework and stuff until mid-december. This includes less posting(although in theory more than I did in october).
-The plus side-More activity in Winter Break=more updates=better boards. And once the boards are nice and neat and everyone here is able to help with everything we can begin advertising more new members.

1 | Requires more admin-work(since only admins have link/password to the File Manager to make changes on info site), but it means that the info is organized and links work. |
2 | Since it's not practical to always change everything(such as profiles), some things would stay the same once posted. More permanent, long-term information would remain the same, such as background of boards, digimon guide, and dictionary. |
3 | Since the info site have info in one place but if you don't know where to look, you wouldn't find it, using the baords with the 'search' function makes it easier to locate information. Old dead things, or things that would never change(like the background) could stay at the site, but isn't needed |
4 | Maim the site and only use the boards, since more customizable and easier to change. |
5 | A rather unreliable system, but I do know that member interaction does help in getting members to understand the rules, info, systems, etc. better. Things are easier to clarify. However, if no one is online, or if the newer members don't have IMs, then it's very hard to distribute information effiecently |
6 | ...We're putting up info anyway |
(pika) | Create a separate board for posting all the information from the site. By creating separate forums and never moving topics, it could work out. |
