A temporary version of Ch 22-Theorizing.
_____
In previous chapters-Daemon had captured and taken over Ken, Brian, Brandy, Willis and AJ, while Jenni, Pirelli, Hidimon, Canamon, Wazumi, and Sam managed to escape. Jenni decided that they should go back to the digital world to investigate, but in disguise. Jenni dressed up like Jasmine from Pokemon, Pirelli borrowed Ponce's clothes, and Sam went as himself since the others barely knew him. However, they were quickly identified and retreated back to the real world.
================================
Untypical of most returns to the real world, there was a large flash. They still appeared outside of Wazumi's appt, but something still seemed unusual. Pirelli immediately took off the large blue shirt, letting the baseball hat fall on the ground. Jenni looked around, as Sam went to knock on the door. Wazumi was just opening it as Hidimon appeared, floating around.
"Ooh, something cool's gonna happen! Yay!"
"Oh boy..." Jenni said, then squeezed past Wazumi to go change out of the dress.
Canamon teleported in front of Pirelli. "Let's go look then," Pirelli said, and covered Canamon in the shirt, then went running around the building.
On the other side of the building, the first thing Pirelli saw was Kenny, Rita and Ponce heading towards her appt. She hide behind the bushes of another appt, not wanting to play with them when something suspisious might be going on. While in the bush, she looked around for anything else, like giant weird digimon. The only person she saw was a girl wearing Jenni's disguise. Once the others were out of sight, she got out of the bush, and started to approach the girl.
Kenny suddenly came running up to her. "Where were you?"
Pirelli turned away from the girl, hiding the shirt behind her. "Helping Jenni with a project..." Pirelli quickly said.
Kenny looked at the girl and stuck out his tounge. "Fine," he said, then ran back towards her appt.
Pirelli waited a moment before turning around to look at the girl, freezing when she did. She had thought the girl was wearing Jenni's disguise, but it was more like the girl was Jenni in disguise. There were very minor differences, like her hair was a little longer and not as dark brown, but her face and everything looked just like Jenni. The girl even had a similar Jenni-like expression of curiousity. Pirelli backed up, unsure of this weird girl.
"Pirelli?" Jenni yelled, as she, Sam, and Wazumi walked around the corner. Upon seeing the girl, Jenni, now in her pink tank top and blue capris, ran up to Pirelli. "Who is this?" Jenni glanced upward at Hidimon, sitting invisibly on hear head. <Don't do anything, and stay invisible and right here and quiet.> Jenni told her in psytalk.
<Aww, do I have to...> Hidimon whined, but sat there.
"I think..." said the girl, practically in Jenni's voice, but with a minor accent, "this has to be a parallel dimension....so, you're my parallel!"
Jenni looked at the girl, confused. "Parallel? Can that even be real?"
"It has to, since we're the same, and, this isn't Japan but I think I recognize it, and the boy looked like my brother but thought I was Jenni, which I guess is you if we're the same."
"That doesn't make sense," Pirelli said, looking at the girl.
"My name's Jasmine Steele. I'm not sure why we'd have different names, but, we really seem to be the same. It has to be parallelism, there's no other logical answer!" she said, almost jumping up and down.
"It could be a trick by Daemon, or, some digimon," Wazumi said.
"I don't think so," Jenni said, looking at Jasmine.
"She made that face earlier too," Pirelli said.
"Do we have any way to test this?" Sam asked.
"I've been trying to study dimensions since, even when I lived in Acamina."
"This is Acamina..." Jenni said, "but where do you live?"
"I've lived in Japan since I was 6."
"Hmm...when I was 6, we moved into our current house, still in Acamina though."
"See! What about your brother?" Jasmine asked, more excited.
"Kenny? He's 10."
"Same as Nick, and he looks just like him, if he really is the boy who was talking to the girl," Jasmine asked, pointing to Pirelli.
"Pirelli?" Jenni asked.
"What?" Pirelli asked, having gotten a little lost in what almost seemed like Jenni talking to herself.
"You saw Kenny?"
Pirelli nodded. "Yeah, he thought this was you," she replied, gesturing to Jasmine.
"Her name is Jasmine."
"But where'd she come from?"
"She said Japan."
"But she's you, but you're you, so, how can she be you?" Pirelli asked, getting more confused.
Jasmine smiled. "I believe there's infinite different versions of the same world, although minor things may have happened in each to make them a slight bit different, but all really the same. Like, our worlds might be similar in most ways except our names are different. Hmm, what about the D-Reaper incident?”
“The what?” Jenni asked.
“I’ve never heard of anything like that before,” Wazumi said.
“I think I remember that…” Sam said. “My memories are a bit blurry though.”
Jenni looked at Pirelli. “What’d you do?”
“Nothing. Maybe he’s not Sam?” Pirelli said, then looked above Jenni, smiling mischieviously.
Suddenly, a bucket of water appeared over Sam’s head, and tipped over, soaking him. With his hair hanging, dripping wet, he looked a lot more like Ken.
“Shouldn’t’ve done that…” Jenni mumbled to Hidimon, sitting on her head invisible.
“How’d that happen?” Jasmine asked.
“Um…not sure…” Jenni said quickly,
“Wasn't it…” Wazumi started to ask
“Pirelli….” Jenni scowled at her, then glanced over to Wazumi and nodded her head, feeling Hidimon almost lose her balance.
<I'll behave, really, pretty please?> Hidimon asked in psytalk.
“But…okay, but he does look like Ken," Pirelli pouted.
Jenni sighed, giving up on the fuss as long as Jasmine didn't notice. She turned back to Jasmine, smiling. "Um..."
“So, he might be the parallel of this ‘Ken person, probably from any worlds like mine that had the D-Reaper incident….Maybe it was called something different here, but it was a giant red blob that tried to delete all digimon and technology.”
“Wait," Jenni said, surprised. "You know about Digimon?” Both Jenni and Wazumi looked around to make sure no one else was nearby.
Jasmine shrugged. “Yeah, I work at the Digi-Real Station, which is a organization set up to try to keep peaceful relations to the digital world."
We should make one here. Or at least tell the Japanese Digidestined to," Jenni said, smirking to the others.
“So, there’s been digimon in this world?” Jasmine asked.
“Yeah, they’ve tried invading in the past. Didn’t work due to the Japanese DD stopping them. Me and Pirelli are DD too.”
"Uh huh!" Pirelli said, taking the shirt off Canamon, and handing it to Sam. "Sorry. Oh, this is Canamon. She teleports and can't talk right."
Hidimon became visible. “You?”
“Oh, how cute. What’s her name?” Jasmine asked, stepping up closer and standing on her toes to get a better look.
“I'm Hidimon. You don't have a partner?”
Jasmine shook her head. “The theory is that only kids can.”
“Break it like the parallel theory.”
Jasmine thought for a moment, then looked at Jenni. “That makes no sense.”
Jenni giggled. “She never does. So, why do you study all these theories anyway?”
Jasmine smiled, then spun around in a circle. “To prove them real, like today!”
