One of the primary themes of Savers is that human emotions are connected to digimon. This is mostly analyzed in Episode 12, that the human emotions are causing digimon to come to the real world, and also "There are 7 emotions that lead the human heart towards evil. Wrath, Lust, Gluttony, Sloth, Envy, Greed, and Pride."
The emotions listed are corresponding to the Demon Lords.
Similarly, the same emotions are opposing to the emotions of the crests(Courage, Friendship, Love, Knowledge, Sincerity, Reliability, Hope).
Based on Wedge's OOC, the exact parallels would be
Courage~Pride
Purity~Envy
Friendship~Wrath
Faith~Sloth
Knowledge~Greed
Hope~Gluttony
Love~Lust
Now, in Episode 29 of Savers, BanchouLeomon explains the Digisoul basicly as emotion, and for Mega level, they need to use control. Also,
"Human desires are said to have seven classifications.
But
The untainted wish of wanting to protect someone is one of those desires."
The second part that is interesting. If linking it to a emotion or crest, it most represents light, at least to me. Especially in the Season 1 episode where Kari lets herself get captured by Myotismon's lackeys so they stop attacking Matt and Sora. This triggers her crest to react. Based on the quote, it's dealing with an untainted wish to protect others.
Now, the thing that's really confusing is that this desire is one of the 7 classified desires. If the desire is light, then why is it being grouped as one of the classified? Is it a miscalculation of the number of desires (should it be 8?), or is the specific desire not one of the others? Light isn't one of the usual crests, since it has no opposing crest or Demon Lord.
Similar to the issue of emotion/crest is with the Saver humans themselves. They aren't linked to specific crests, although it's logical that they have implied emotional triggers. Masaru's would be courage(since who else is crazy enough to punch a digimon on a daily basis). Also, ShineGreymon has something on his tail in the shape of the crest of courage.
Similarly, with Kurata's lackey humans, Kouki had been cranky about being beat by Masaru, and even said "This has to do with my pride!" Since Kouki has continuously kept fighting Masaru, they could be opposites emotion crest type.
Therefore I'm left wondering exactly what emotions are they grouping Yoshino and Tohma with, and who opposes with what emotion? It's most likely that Tohma is knowledge and Yoshino is sincerity (I know Tohma's digimon and colors would match friendship more, but Tohma's too smart for that.)
Ivan...has indicated he's interested in Yoshino and Megumi, although he's baffled on how they know his thoughts, which might be lust, but then Yoshino would be love to match.(technically with her it could go either way) With Nanami, not much has been seen except she's the more logical one, cute, and seen lounging in a hammock and doesn't seem to care either way about maiming digimon or hunting the humans. Of the remaining dark emotions, she could be sloth, which could link Tohma to reliability(that suits him also but I'd still think the other two fit better for him)
Also, who knows where Ikuto fits in with all this. Luckily there's no opposing Bio-digi-humans for him, but when last seen, he was very emotion-based when triggering digisoul, and that's simply because of what happened to the digimon he's known. Which could be a combination of friendship or love.(possibly love since falcomon is a bird). We'll have to see what he's been up to, since now he'd behind in the digivolving game. Again.
And just for fun, what might Miki, Megumi, Satsuma, and Old Man have as their emotion triggers? I wish Chika could be grouped in but she hasn't had/used/etc digisoul yet-her Biyomon digivolved on its own.
