I'll leave Deragon(Mr Research) to post most of his random findings.
They're keeping most of the names, like Yoshino and Masaru, and even Lalamon. Tohma is Thomas, Sunflowmon is Sunflowermon. Miki and Megumi, who I frequently refer to as 'the girls' since they rarely are treated as separate characters, are to be called 'the miniskirt police.'
I had jsut realized something random at work. Yesterday I had been ranting on the IM that the name for the girls is mean, almost degrading to just pay attention to their clothes(which halfway though the season they don't even wear), rather than who they are(not that we know that anyway, but they could at least try.). Today, i realized another extended meaning of the name. It's not really a name that you'd want 9 yr olds running around saying, right? My cousins are semi-into digimon(they're 9, so they were too little when digimon was first on tv, so all they've seen is reruns and stuff), but I haven't told them about dubbed savers in case it's not appropreate. I realized-this name is indicating that they are aiming for a more mature audience. It's certainly the type of thing teenage boys might pay attention to(me and kenny already got into a debate about it.)

Well first of all, I agree that the name don't fit the characters, especially in the second half of the series.
But about the 9 year old thing... of course we don't want that. But it shouldn't matter if something like that is shown in front of them or not if their parents are giving them proper decipline. Honestly I don't get why every network has to sugar-coat their kids shows just because their audience don't have parents that teach the kids themselves instead of having the television do it for them.
So if you think your cousins' parents are handling them responsibly enough, go ahead and tell them(no offense to the parents btw). Otherwise, no, it's not "appropreate" and the kids will need to be sheltered all their lives.

You know, I don't really see the problem. These days, we have little 9 year olds WEARING miniskirts, so, whatcha gonna do?

That don't mean we need to contribute to that...

Well, WE could always do something about it. I don't wanna think that we can just let this be, but there's also the whole 'one voice against company's' kinda thing. We could send an email or something to that affect, or maybe even try to get something banning the series if they don't change the name, due to it's sexual bias and discrimination.
I mean, it's stupid, and we don't want to subject whoever watches it to that kinda of sexual attack. What if people start thinking it's okay because it's on a cartoon show, so it may even perpetuate more and younger girls to start wearing suggestive clothing. I say we come up with some kind of debate, and then decide if we can do anything about it.

I dont think its such a big deal, I mean, my 7 yearold sister and her waky friends say stuff that would probubly have a much higher rating than that, I think its less wrong as it is just a plain dumb name for a char!

((Copy/Pasted straight from Shining Evo)) Digimon Data Squad Airdates Thanks to The Digi Port and Kyl146:
"It seems Digimon Data Squad will premier Monday October 1, 2007 at 8:30 PM.
It looks as if we will have 2 Digimon Data Squad episodes per week- one on Monday at 8:30 PM, and Fridays at 8:30 PM. Possibly 2 new episodes per week, or it could be repeats?? We'll have to see."
