I think out of any books, these are created from pure tombelogic. Magic is nuts there. Completely. Like pies and shoes growing on trees. And a million and one puns that are real. ((I'm not too good at remembering them of the top of my head besides ones like tulips are flowers made of two lips, and rootbeer is called bootrear, and when you drink it, it feels like something literally kicked you))
It is cool though, since all humans there have a magic talent. Talents don't really repeat (avoiding exceptions), and usually if you're a magical creature, then you don't always have a talent.. Winged Centaurs do have a talent of lightening themselves to be able to fly though, and other similar things.
Other examples of talents
Dolph-turn himself into any creature
Murphy-make it so 'whatever can go wrong will go wrong' for target
Surprise-use any talent once(can include slight variations of talents, like multiple ways to fly)
Dor-make inanimate objects talk
Melody-Harmony-Rhythm(triplet princesses) create anything when making music(Melody-sing, Harmony-play harmonica, Rhythm-beat drum)
Grey-negate magic
(skims list) okay, most of those people actrually are magicians or sorceresses(based on gender, but equvilent in power). and only a magician or sorceress can be king of xanth and rule((There are no ruling queens, but females can be king. Did i mention that this is a world based on tombelogic?))
Another thing I like about this series a lot is the Adult Conspiracy. It's both magical in nature, and adults usually agree with it, since it's a conspiracy to keep kids from things that are 'interesting' Or at least that's what hte kids think since they aren't allowed to know what they aren't allowed to know. Which in reality is anything naughty. And underwear. Males literally freeze if they see it, until the panties are covered. Oh, and all bad words and gesters are bleeped out or unseen magically to protect kids. Isn't this a nice world?
It's cool compared to Mudania. Which is everything else. And anyone from Xanth thinks Mudania is the bleh-est place ever and feel sorry for them since its boring and stuff. Compared to Xanth, yeah, but it's not that bad here, is it?
