(Yes I know this is in the fiction section, but since the movies are based on the books, it's easier for one general topic.
Now, technically, how should we judge something as spoilers, since, naturally anything book 7 is spoilers, but what about book 6, since only poeple who watch the movies would have seen up to 5 (only 4 if haven't gone to see 5 today).
Personaly, I'd think anything at all book 7 should be spoiler code, [spoil-er][/spoil-er](minus the -), while maybe book 6 stuff could just be 'strikethrough' code, since that'd require about a second longer to read, but still wouldn't require fancy color adjustments(which wouldn't work since most of us have different profile skins up. mine's the pink HG one:-p)
I know most of this first post may be babble, but I want to prevent spoilers, since last time i read a major book 6 spoiler, but disregarded it since it seemed so impossible. Nope, it really happened. (So the last couple weeks, I havne't even been reading anything possibly book related. Movies, easily readable though:-p)
Added note to pika-#1-DON'T look at the pics ahead of time, you'll spoil yourself. #2-I'll probably do a general "Differences between book5 and movie" post, since you probably wouldn't remember enough of the book precisely, and would probably want to read book 7 compared to rereading.

-Differences between book 5 and movie Shuffled -Umbridge’s interviews with the teachers. (Besides DADA, no other classes are seen besides these scenes) -Fred/George’s final rebellion. (combined the fireworks and broomsticks, but no swamp. Plus all this during the O.W.Ls, and then Harry has the vision.) -Clothing. Half the time in robes, half the time in shirt/tie/etc, and the other half of the school in normal clothing.
Kept -Kreacher(although not the betrayal) -‘Emotional range of a teastombe’ -Snape’s worst memory, although condensed down to being upsidedown -Trelawney’s firing, although no replacement. -Percy siding with Ministry(although not directly discussed)
Major Removed plots -Quiditch. Therefore no Ron winning. -No Prefect stuff. -Harry’s interview with Rita for the Quibbler. -Sirius’ mirror and ghosts. -Harry talking to the Dursleys about magical world. -House points. -Attack on Hagrid, therefore no McGonagall attack -trip to St Mungo’s, and group finding out about Neville’s parents.(he privately tells Harry though) -Harry’s date with Cho. -Mudungus selling stolen Black goods.
Highly changed -Discovery of DA-Veritaserum on Cho, instead of Marissa simply telling. Meanwhile, Finch had been watching the door but never saw them -The extra rooms in the Dept of Mystery. They had the prophecy room and the circular arch room, but none of the others(but it’d have taken a while anyway. Also, none of the kids got maimed) -Harry heard the prophecy once he picked up the orb, rather than from Dumbledore. -Harry didn’t break stuff in Dumbledore’s office. Actually, he didn’t do all of his yelling, or at least not as loud as implied. -Statues didn’t come to life in Ministry battle. However, the possession time was much longer. -Luna told Harry about the Threstals -Grawp wasn’t as wild, and group accepted him more(he gave Hermione a bike handle with a bell.
Highly Illogical Changes Flying through London-low enough to be seen. Sirius’s death,-Bellatrix A.K.’d instead of stun(Yes, it was green and not red, although none of the stuns were red, and they used it a lot), although then he fell through the veil. -OotP HQ not revealed as Sirius’ home until winter break
Chances are, I forgot things. That, or mentally list that change as something else. You can ask if something happened and I’ll directly say though. This makes me realize two things. #1-The books are always better than the movies in plot, because 90% of the minor plots are gone, so only the major ones stay. That, or minor hints have to be made obvious. -Example-Kreacher. He was ‘just there’. So, why include him? Beucase he’s apparently needed for book 7. #2-Based on comparing the HP books, Eragon, and Howl’s Moving Castle to the books, all which had authors not wiritng the script but still supportive of how it turns out.(Howl’s Moving Castle being the biggest difference, although Diana Wynne Jones had said she expected it to be difference since she doesn’t write movies, and also Miyazaki was directing it so it’s bound to be crazy.) -I’m glad I took the documentary class, which included scriptwriting. If FD does become a movie, I’d be better able to keep logical yet conspirative continuity. But anyway, it’s the massively detailed, connected plots. I like the HP books for many reasons, but it’s this that I want to pull into FD’s books. And that’s why I support conspiracies.
